About the Job

The Nutrition and Health Promotion Officer will plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals for children daily that may be delivered on country, at the Children’s Ground hub or another community centre.
You will provide guidance, support and share knowledge with the other Nutrition team and work under the Children’s Ground Family Health and Wellbeing Framework – Health in the Hands of the
People – contributing to the ongoing improvement of health and wellbeing outcomes for the Arrernte Alice Springs communities. You will take a lead role when organising catering for functions and support the delivery of Early Years Learning.

The First Nations Health Promotion Officer will work with children, young people, elders and families to promote family health and wellbeing and create and deliver responses to population health needs with the local community. This role will support service delivery by designing and delivering health promotion activities within Early Years learning, support family health plans with individuals and families and create and deliver responses to population health needs with the local community. 

This position works with families in Darwin First Nation communities and may provide outreach support to West Arnhem.  

About You

You will have relevant experience &/or qualifications in Health Promotion or Nutrition. You need knowledge of food safety standards and ideally have experience in Childcare/Early Years sector. A current Drivers License, OCHRE card and ability to undergo Police Clearance is mandatory.
