"This painting is a flower from the billabong in Ngukurr. It’s a lily flower; we eat the fruit from that plant in the billabong, that’s why I remember it. I had to put it in my mind and keep it there so I could paint my memory. We put the fruit from the flower in the coals- it tastes really nice, and we eat the stalk too. I like to eat the end part that is white and sweet. I would like to take my family there one day to show them what the story behind the flower is all about. "
