“My name is Clifteena and I’m 11 years old. I like doing drawing and swimming and all kinds of sports! I play footy and basketball. I like going fishing and getting crab. I like touching animals, like bluetongue lizards!
I like drawing. We have lots of artists in our family, on my mother’s and father’s side. I learnt art from my grandfather and grandmother and my mum. They said “what are you going to do?” I said art! So, my mother bought me pencils. My grandfather drew an ogre and taught me how to draw it.
When I create my artwork, I kinda see it in my head and just draw it. For this artwork I used paint, pencil and a paintbrush. There’s lots of different colours because it makes it beautiful. I have been an artist for a long time. It means a lot because it makes me think of Dreamtime stories.” – Clifteena Cooper Pamkal
