The late T.Ryder, Eastern Arrernte artist and writer, spent her childhood on Todd River station. She learned to track animals and hunt as she travelled around her country with her family. In this book she describes many of the birds that live there. She appreciated their beauty and their songs, and the roles that they play as messengers and as food.
