A gathering for First Nations people to come together on Arrernte Country to share, learn, connect and celebrate. 

Apmerenge-ntyele Festival: From the Land brings together First Nations people to share and celebrate 65,000 years of continuous connection to culture. 

Headlined by performances from Gomeroi artist Kobie Dee, Warnindhilyagwa woman Emily Warramura, First Nations hiphop supergroup 3% and Mparntwe’s own Dem Arrernte Mape, Big J, Alice Kings, DJ Gram and more, the festival also includes creative art and music workshops, live panel discussions, cultural performances, kids’ activities, market stalls and food.

Program

The two day festival, held at Desert Knowledge Precinct is a gathering of current and traditional knowledge and practice, innovation, performance and celebration.

An intergenerational festival, the program is for all ages, from babies to Elders and celebrates the old knowledge, alongside the new ways. 

The days programming includes workshops, discussion, bush food, bush medicine, performances and more.

Friday and Saturday evenings are open to the wider community and feature a line-up of local and national bands, artists and performances.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO PUBLIC PARKING AT DESERT KNOWLEDGE PRECINCT
    Free parking is available at the Alice Springs Turf ClubPark Racecourse South, 2/Pioneer, Stuart Hwy, Alice Springs NT 0870. A shuttle bus will be in operation between the festival and Alice Springs Turf Club to transport attendees to the festival grounds.
  • Apmerenge-ntyele Festival: From the Land takes place from Friday 30 to Saturday 31 August at Desert Knowledge Precinct, 475 South, Stuart Hwy, Alice Springs NT 0870.  
  • Entry to the festival is free for First Nations people. Donations welcome from non-First Nations people.  
  • This is a family-friendly, drug and alcohol-free event. 
  • Dogs are not welcome at Apmerenge-ntyele Festival
  • Apmerenge-ntyele Festival is open to the whole community from 5-10pm Friday, and 4-11pm Saturday.
    Saturday programming is a First Nations only cultural exchange from 10am-4pm.
