About the Job

The Administration Assistant works with Operations and Administration team who are the central point of contact for staff, families and community in our Darwin office. The position offers variety, diversity and the opportunity to be involved in general administration duties, operational and office management.

The Administration Assistant is responsible for performing routine administrative tasks that ensure the smooth daily operation of the office. This role includes managing calls, emails, meeting support, and maintaining office supplies. It is designed to assist senior team members by handling simpler, transactional tasks.

This role is integral to the smooth running of the Top End operation and administration and includes tasks related to:

  • General administration
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring common areas are well-maintained
  • Organising meetings and travel arrangements
  • Support record keeping
  • Support fleet and equipment maintenance
  • Provide executive assistance and administration support to the Regional Director and Head of Operations
  • Support People & Culture with compliance
  • Support basic building of PC skills for team members
  • Oversee IT equipment storage and ordering

About You

You are a First Nations person who is a team player and is willing to get things done. You are well organised and able to manage time and tasks effectively. You bring your knowledge of computers with a high attention to detail and a willingness to learn new processes and systems. This is a part-time role that requires a commitment to work four hours per day Monday – Friday.

Essential selection criteria

  1. Good with people and strong communications skills

  2. Good attention to detail.
  3. Be motivated and willing to learn.
  4. Basic IT literacy.
  5. Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and obtain NT OCHRE Card (Working with Children Check).
  6. A C Class Drivers Licence.

Desirable

  1. Experience working in remote First Nations communities.
  2. Experience in a similar role.
