This First Nations identified role will be responsible for leading the ideation, planning, development and implementation of all Children’s Ground media and communication activities. You will lead a small team in developing Children’s Ground strategies and campaigns, content creation, media and social media engagement and creating opportunities to centre First Nations voices, perspectives and knowledge. The First Nations Head of Media and Communications will contribute their own knowledge and lived experience to the ongoing development of the organisation. The role will have dual reporting to Director, Partnerships, Investment and Communications and Director Strategy and Development with a dotted line reporting to CEO.

You will have a passion for social justice and the rights of First Nations people and will be highly motivated by making change. To be successful in this position, you will be a highly experienced media and/or communications professional, preferably with experience in a not-for-profit environment. Your excellent written and verbal communications skills will allow you to capture and continue to amplify First Nations voices, ensuring cultural knowledge is accurately represented and narratives shifted. You will be focussed on backing and coaching First Nations people making sure First Nations voices and perspectives are included in everything we do. A creative thinker and problem solver you will have the ability to work to tight timeframes and deadlines and balance priorities in a small team environment.
