We acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional owners the Gadigal People, of the land in which we work. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future. We acknowledge First Nations people’s ongoing connection to country and culture and that Australia always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land.
This reconciliation week we want to take action to support First Nations people to achieve equality. We recognise the need for First Nations voice, teachings and systems to support equality in education. We see this as a need to allow for a fair education system that will facilitate an increase in engagement and attainment, and support the health and wellbeing of First Nations students. We recognise the strengths of these cultures and First Nations students.
This year we are raising money and awareness to support The Children’s Ground. An organisation that is taking necessary action every day. The Children’s Ground is an organisation lead by Aboriginal Communities, recognising the expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems that over have evolved for over 65, 000 years.
From The Children’s Ground “We are creating a new future for children filled with promise, hope and empowerment”.
